![]() Ceiling with aa is higher than no aa, and when it comes to tracking unpredicable strafing targets you could argue its higher than pc (case in point: Genburten). Skill floor for aiming with AA is higher with than without, but still lower than PC floor. On mnk the floor is higher (easier imo, as in you're better right off the bat, no practice) and the ceiling is higher. The skill floor for aiming rollers without Aa is relatively low (you start bad), and the skill ceiling is high (you can get really good without Aa, but not everyone will get to those levels). The better controller players could definitely get by without AA though. The casual console community would get eaten alive by pc players if it weren't for AA. ![]() In apex you can't say AA is so OP that controllers are better than PC, but the only reason contoller players stand a chance to begin with is because the game helps you track targets. In Halo it undeniable that controller players outperform mnk players, and it's undeniable that it's mainly due to the AA. You aim won't stick to a target and act like an aimbot, like some salty pc players think, but it'll minimize the consequences your opponent strafing out of your crosshair when you do get around to reacting to it.Ĭan you guess what the only other FPS where controller players can compete with PC players at the top level is? Its Halo, another high ttk game with heavy AA. AA isn't op, but relatively speaking it seems like controller players have a can advantage when it comes to getting those one clips simply because the game is helping them by effectively reacting to movements faster than any human could. Additionally, though it'll still be a concern, the aim assist will help minimize the undeshoots and overshoots when making the correction. When a controller player tracks a strafing opponent, the aim assist will slow the aim as the opponent switches direction, minimizing the distance the subsequent direction will have to cover. These factors are still at play for controller players, but aim assist will fundamentally do some of that leg work for them. The best players with great aim have minimized this as much as they can by grinding aim trainers and playing loads. That reaction time and inaccuracies in corrections are bullets missed. Additionally you can then under shoot or overshoot. When the enemy changes direction you'll be moving your mouse further from your opponent until you react and make the correction. When tracking a strafing opponent, MnK is fundamentally dependent on the reaction times and motor control of the PC player. It's just that the 0ms reaction time that the aim assist inherently has gives controller players a big advantage when it comes to beaming in certain situations.
